Successful Businessman MEtin Liçis started his speech by mentioning that there are two basic facts regarding the workforce of today and tomorrow.
- First, it is based on the employee with the right skills,
- The second is to make it easier for many young people around the world to access the skills they need and will need to be successful.
Mentioning that this is not just a social or potential political problem, Metin Liçis said that skills seem to disrupt this mismatch and well-designed business strategies.
What Should Be Done to Fill the Skill Gap?
Stating that it is a great responsibility to help define and develop these skills in corporate foreign businesses, Metin Liçis mentioned that the private sector should be a playmaker.
“Businesses have to work with institutions and partners that provide training and courses to identify the skills they will need.”
Some of the basic skills are:
- Cognitive ability,
- Analytical skills,
- Supporting the ability to create insight.
It also consists of supporting empathy, digitalization, mentality, resilience.
But it’s not a matter of young people taking the lessons they were taught in class,” Metin Liçis said. “It’s very important for companies to listen to what young people are saying about today’s world,” he concluded.
